2022 PARADE DAY INFORMATION
Parade Day:
Just a reminder, you MUST have your complete costume, mask, and harness on parade day.
Current timeline (subject to change):
7AM - Convention Center Lot F will open for parking - $20 per car for the day and overnight. Entry to Lot F is on Calliope Street.
11AM - Floats depart den on France Road en route to Lot I, which is directly across Tchoupitoulas from Lot F. We will have an ALLA Flag hanging on the fence line to help identify the lot.
12:30 PM - Shuttle buses will begin transporting ALLA riders from Lot F to Urban South Brewery
Pre Parade Party at Urban South Brewery 1PM - 4PM
A reminder that no outside alcohol is allowed in the brewery, though outside food is fine. There will be a cash bar for beer and a pop up chef and a food truck will be on site if you wish to purchase food. At approximately 2:30PM, we will hold a toast with our Captain and members of our Royal Court.
Urban South will be following all current City of New Orleans Covid protocols so please be prepared to show either a negative test result or your vaccine card when ordering at the bar.
1PM - 3PM - Lot I opens for access by ALLA riders and DJ's - must have a wristband and/or your ALLA costume to gain entry. This timeline is tentative and will be dependent upon the arrival time of the floats as they travel from the den on France Road.
3:30PM - Shuttle buses will begin transporting ALLA riders from Urban South to Lot I. Please check in with your Lieutenant upon arrival at your float.
5:00PM - ALLA Riders begin boarding floats. Riders must wear the complete costume, mask, and hat or headpiece for the duration of the parade, and harnesses must be worn around the waist and be secured to an eye bolt on the float at all times!
5:30PM - NOPD moves ALLA floats and riders down to the formation area on Jefferson and Magazine.
As a reminder, we are the third of three parades on Friday night, so there will be some downtime when we arrive at the formation area. We understand that most of us will take this opportunity to stretch our legs and perhaps visit one of the establishments on Tchoupitoulas for food or a beverage, but we do ask that everyone remain in close vicinity of their float. We will have very short notice from NOPD when it’s time to roll.
Post-Parade: Riders and floats will be returning to Lot I after the parade. We ask that you remain in your spot and secured to the float via your harness until the float comes to a complete stop in Lot I. Your Float Lieutenant will advise everyone when it is safe to disembark the float.
Finally, please keep in touch with your lieutenant throughout the week and check back in on this message from time to time as we will update it with new information as needed.
Thank you, and HAIL ALLA!
